I have an announcement to make.

In light of the recent "coming out " of the Black NBA player from the Washington Wizards and the positive feedback that he has received for finally being truthful to himself and to the world about who and what he really is as it relates to his sexual preference, orientation and even choice, I can no longer sit in silence and live in secrecy about who and what I am. I am encouraged that I will be received with just as much love and support from the Black community and the world and I just know that I, too, will be featured on the cover of many major magazines as well as featured as a guest on a many daytime talkshows after I make my announcement to the world. I am nervous because I just don't know what I am going to say when the President of the United States interrupts his tedious job of  taking care of the business of running the country just to give lil ole me a call to express to me how proud he is of me for "coming out" with my truth to you all today. I am nervous because I don't know who is going to call me to pen a book on what it took for me to finally break my silence after all of these years about who and what I am. Its just so much to look forward to.

Ok. Here it goes. My name is Rico Rivers. I am a Black man. I am a college graduate. I don't have any tattoos. I don't have a criminal record. I don't have any children out of wedlock. I am not a Christian. I don't go church. I don't eat beef or pork. I have never dated outside of my race. Finally, I am a HETEROSEXUAL! I have never experiemented with gay or bi-sexual sex. Again, did I mention that I was Black man? WOW! It felt like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulder. I guess now all I have to do is sit by the computer and read your comments of love and support as well as sit by the phone to wait for the President of the United States to make that call to express his "pride" in my finally being true to who I am. Hmm, I don't think he has my cell number. Mr. President, here is my cell. 972-854-9497. I will be waiting, Sir.
